Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Crane Engineer for a field and workshop role in the Reading area. The role offers a basic salary of £50,960 with overtime after 8 hours and an OTE around £60,000, plus a company van, mobile phone and tablet.

The position covers the South or London/South Coast region and requires no overnight stays. You will service, repair and install lorry-loader cranes and related lifting equipment, diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with cranes, lifting equipment, hydraulics, HGV equipment or vehicle-mounted machinery is required.
• Experience with lorry-loader / truck-mounted cranes and hydraulic fault finding is advantageous.
• LOLER/Thorough Examination or ALLMI qualifications are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing lorry-loader and truck-mounted lifting equipment.
• Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
• Working on pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and hydraulic control systems.
• CAN bus and 24V electrical fault-finding.
• Carrying out planned servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Installing, wiring, testing and commissioning new systems.
• Carrying out LOLER inspections where qualified.
• Providing technical support and handovers to customers.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile HGV Crane Engineer to join a well-established specialist engineering business providing servicing, repair and installation of lorry-loader cranes and vehicle-mounted lifting equipment.

Duties of the HGV Crane Engineer

Working across hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, you will be responsible for:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing lorry-loader and truck-mounted lifting equipment
• Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
• Working on pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and hydraulic control systems.
• Fault-finding on 24V electrical, CAN bus and electronic control systems.
• Carrying out planned servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Installing, wiring, testing and commissioning new systems.
• Completing inspections, testing and LOLER-related work where qualified.
• Mechanical repairs, component replacement and occasional fabrication/welding.
• Providing technical support and equipment handovers to customers.
• Field based and workshop-based role
