Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, offering mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, utilizing technological solutions to manage our teams efficiently.

We are seeking a Mobile Handyperson to join our team on the Kent County Council contract.

The role involves carrying out Planned Preventive and Reactive Maintenance, assisting with M&E Services, and handling Small Works and emergency procedures as needed. It also includes participation in the out-of-hours call-out rota, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

This is a mobile position covering various locations across Kent, requiring a full clean driving license.

You will:

• Demonstrate a self-motivated ‘can-do’ attitude to work effectively within the mobile team.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to fire doors, doorframes, and associated fittings & fixtures.
• Carry out minor carpentry repairs, including work on doors, doorframes, windows, timber constructions, and fixing shelves, pictures, and noticeboards.
• Replace and install locks.
• Perform general labouring duties such as furniture movement and gutter clearances.
• Conduct seasonal gritting as per the gritting plan, which may require out-of-hours work due to weather conditions.
• Undertake semi-skilled tasks as directed by the Operations Manager or Supervisor.
• Complete and submit all maintenance & inspection records promptly.
• Assist with other PPM and additional work, adhering to engineering standards and HASWA requirements.
• Collaborate with professionals within and outside the fabric specialism.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Participate in occasional overtime work.
