Mobile Handyperson
Worcester/Gloucester/Swindon/Bristol
Up to £37,500 plus van, call out and overtime
We are recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Handyperson to join an estates team working across care homes, healthcare and mental health facilities across the South Midlands and South West. This is a permanent position paying a basic salary of up to £37,500 per annum plus van, call out and overtime. The successfulapplicant must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Main Duties:
- Carry out skilled carpentry works including repairs, installations, and bespoke fittings
- Complete full bathroom installations, including wet‑room construction, tiling, plumbing connections, and finishing
- Install kitchens to a high standard, including units, worktops, appliances, and associated carpentry
- Undertake general building works such as plastering, minor plumbing, basic electrical tasks, and structural repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests across multiple sites
- Deliver planned and preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and maintain property standards
- Liaise with the Estates Manager and other contractors to coordinate works efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, materials used, and time spent
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working order
- Report major issues, hazards, or structural concerns to management
- Provide out‑of‑hours support when required
- Always consider the well beingand safety of all persons within the service
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by management
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, bathroom fitting, kitchen installation, and general building
- Strong practical knowledge of plumbing, basic electrics, and construction methods
- Ability to safely use a wide range of hand and power tools
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Physically capable of performing manual labour, lifting, and working in varied environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant trade certifications or technical training (preferred but not essential)
