Job summary

Mitie Group plc in the North West is seeking a Gas Engineer to deliver planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance on gas appliances and related systems.

You will support plumbing and basic electrical tasks, diagnose faults, and complete repairs within contractual timescales while ensuring accurate documentation and certification. The role includes monitoring subcontractors and handling small works permits as required.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent required for the role.
• Commercial gas qualifications CCN1, CODNCO1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1 essential.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe working practices expected.
• Basic electrical knowledge and plumbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance on gas appliances and associated systems.
• Support plumbing and basic electrical maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs within contractual timescales.
• Complete all documentation and certification accurately and on time.
• Monitor subcontractors and issue permits for small works as required.
• Regular PPM tasks as required.

ROLE: Gas Engineer
HOURS: 40 hours per week
LOCATION: North West
CONTRACT: Department for Transport – Permanent

We're looking for a Gas Engineer who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to maintenance schedules.

Role Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance on gas appliances and associated systems
• Support plumbing and basic electrical maintenance tasks
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs within contractual timescales
• Complete all documentation and certification accurately and on time
• Monitor subcontractors and issue permits for small works as required
• Regular PPM tasks as required

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent
