Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mobile Gas Engineer to join our facilities management team, covering South East London and surrounding areas. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and servicing on commercial gas systems, ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold current Gas Safe registration, relevant commercial gas qualifications and a full UK driving licence, and be able to manage a mobile workload

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer in a commercial facilities management context.
• Current Gas Safe registration and relevant commercial gas qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to manage a mobile workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on gas appliances and heating systems.
• Undertake reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete servicing, inspections and safety checks in line with regulations.
• Diagnose faults and implement safe, efficient solutions.
• Perform general mechanical and building services maintenance when required.
• Ensure work complies with gas safety legislation and health and safety requirements.
• Complete service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation.
• Respond to maintenance requests within agreed timescales.
• Liaise with clients and site teams; identify issues and preventative measures.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Gas Engineer to join our facilities management team, covering South East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Gas Engineer with experience in commercial maintenance to join an established operation, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding and servicing across a range of commercial properties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring gas appliances, heating systems and associated equipment operate safely, efficiently and in line with current legislation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on gas appliances, boilers, heating systems and associated equipment.
• Undertake reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Complete servicing, inspections and safety checks in accordance with current regulations.
• Diagnose faults and identify suitable solutions to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Carry out general mechanical and building services maintenance where required.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant gas safety legislation, health and safety requirements and industry best practice.
• Complete service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation accurately.
• Respond to maintenance requests and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
• Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and other engineers.
• Identify potential issues and recommend preventative measures to improve system reliability.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Gas Engineer, ideally within a commercial facilities management environment.
• Relevant gas engineering qualifications and current Gas Safe registration.
• Appropriate commercial gas qualifications and competencies for the appliances and systems being maintained.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on gas heating systems and boilers.
• A good understanding of gas safety regulations and statutory compliance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• The ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload effectively.
