Job summary

Torrent Trackside is seeking a Mobile Fitter to cover the Perth area, joining a team focused on rail infrastructure portable plant and trackside services.

The successful candidate will be a time-served Plant Fitter or Mechanic with a full UK driving license and experience in small plant engines, electrical systems, and battery tools. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Time served Plant Fitter or Mechanic
• Full UK Driving license
• Experience with maintenance/repair of small plant engines (petrol 2-stroke, 4-stroke and diesel)
• Experience with 12-volt electrical systems
• Experience with battery powered tools
• Ability to plan own workload and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, service, repair of company and customer assets at customer premises.
• Work on your own and as part of a team at customer premises ensuring equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications at all times.
• Complete company paperwork and ensure safe working practices are observed and followed at all times.
• Ensure van stock is kept to required level by ordering service and repair parts as needed

Job Introduction

An excellent opportunity has come up within our Torrent Trackside business for a Mobile Fitter to cover the Perth area. This opportunity would suit a small plant fitter or mechanic who has experience in small plant maintenance, electrical systems, battery powered tools and agricultural or construction industry plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, service, repair of company and customer assets at customer premises.
• Work on your own and as part of a team at customer premises ensuring that the equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications at all times.
• Complete company paperwork and ensure safe working practices are observed and followed at all times.
• Ensure van stock is kept to required level by ordering service and repair parts as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Time served Qualified Plant Fitter or Mechanic
• Full UK Driving license
• Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of:
• Small plant engines such as petrol 2 stroke, 4 stroke and diesels
• 12 vault electrical systems
• Battery powered tools
• Able to plan own workload and manage time effectively

The successful candidate will be expected to pass a Drug and Alcohol Railway standard medical and undergo PTS safety qualification training. All of this will be arranged for you.
