Job summary

Torrent Trackside is seeking a Mobile Fitter to cover the Basingstoke area. The role targets a capable plant fitter or mechanic with experience in small plant maintenance, electrical systems, battery powered tools, and rail/trackside related equipment.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, on-site, with a range of employee benefits and a commitment to ongoing development and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Time served qualified plant fitter or mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of small plant engines (petrol 2-stroke/4-stroke and diesel).
• Knowledge of electrical systems and battery powered tools.
• Experience with rail/trackside equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, service, and repair of company and customer assets at customer premises.
• Work on your own and as part of a team at customer premises ensuring equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications.
• Complete company paperwork and ensure safe working practices are observed and followed at all times.
• Ensure van stock is kept to required level by ordering service and repair parts as needed.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has come up within our Torrent Trackside business for a Mobile Fitter to cover the Basingstoke area. This opportunity would suit a small plant fitter or mechanic who has experience in small plant maintenance, electrical systems, battery powered tools and agricultural or construction industry plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance, service, repair of company and customer assets at customer premises.
• Work on your own and as part of a team at customer premises ensuring that the equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications at all times.
• Complete company paperwork and ensure safe working practices are observed and followed at all times.
• Ensure van stock is kept to required level by ordering service and repair parts as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Time served Qualified Plant Fitter or Mechanic
• Full UK Driving license
• Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of: Small plant engines such as petrol 2 stroke, 4 stroke and diesels
• 12 vault electrical systems
• Battery powered tools
• Able to plan own workload and manage time effectively
• The successful candidate will be expected to pass a Drug and Alcohol Railway standard medical and undergo PTS safety qualification training. All of this will be arranged for you.
