Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Field Service Engineer to deliver professional on-site repair and maintenance across multiple industries from Bedford. You will diagnose faults, carry out hydraulic hose replacements, and keep critical machinery operational while working independently with a strong customer-focus.

The role includes on-call duties, a company van, and training programmes to develop hydraulic expertise and career progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, electrical, maintenance or engineering environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on engineering capability with practical aptitude.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair hydraulic hose and fluid power equipment.
• On-site hose replacement, assembly and repair work.
• Provide fast breakdown service to minimise downtime.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota, including weekends/bank holidays.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver professional service.
• Promote company products and services as appropriate.
• Maintain stock levels in the service vehicle for first-time fixes.
• Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and per procedures.
• Accurately complete service reports and documentation.
• Support workshop/service centre operations when required.
• Attend training courses and ongoing development programmes.
