Job summary

Vertas is seeking a Mobile Caretaker to join our Facilities Team in the Alfreton area. The role is 15 hours per week, with split shifts from 7am-8am and 4pm-6pm, Monday to Friday, and requires you to drive with your own vehicle.

You will unlock/lock the school, clean classrooms and communal areas, and carry out basic checks and maintenance while ensuring health and safety standards are met. DBS checks and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a caretaking or similar environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Unlocking and locking up of the school.
• General cleaning of classrooms, corridors and communal areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting surfaces.
• Cleaning toilets and replenishing supplies.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Carrying out basic checks and light maintenance.
• Supporting overall site cleanliness and presentation.
• Demonstrating Health and Safety awareness.
