Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Mobile Fabric Technician to deliver planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across client sites in the East Midlands and Staffordshire. The role requires carpentry and general maintenance skills, with a focus on safety and quality.

You will perform tasks ranging from carpentry and flooring to lighting and basic plumbing, while using mobile devices to manage work orders and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fabric Technician or in building maintenance.
• City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Carpentry.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong health and safety knowledge (COSHH, risk assessments, working at height).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• IT literacy and use of mobile devices for work management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance tasks within agreed timescales.
• Undertake basic fabric maintenance including carpentry, flooring, walls, ceilings, and general building repairs.
• Complete ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
• Carry out lighting maintenance, AHU/FCU filter changes, and basic plumbing tasks.
• Conduct site surveys and assist in producing work requests, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Utilise handheld devices (PDA) to manage work orders, updates, and communications.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive works, and minor project activities.
• Build strong working relationships with client representatives and colleagues.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Support additional maintenance and facilities tasks as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
