Job summary

Great Places Housing Group in Oldham is seeking a hands-on Caretaker to keep our estates safe, clean and well maintained on site. You will be the visible point of contact for residents and work within a dedicated mobile team to support community living.

The role focuses on practical tasks, safety checks and responsive repairs, with opportunities to develop a positive presence in our neighbourhoods while delivering reliable service to Great Places communities.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence required.
Experience in a similar caretaker role is essential.
IT proficiency and use of PDAs.
Ability to work in a team or independently.
Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Flexible, positive attitude and willingness to adapt.
Comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
Site Health and Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and repair to estates, blocks and schemes.
Carry out cleaning tasks: hoovering, sweeping, mopping, cleaning of communal doors, glazing, lighting, dirt removal.
Perform Health & Safety checks and report issues to Compliance.
Carry out minor repairs or proactive maintenance in communal areas (bulbs, handles, moss removal, painting, graffiti removal, etc.).
