Job summary
Groundforce is seeking a hands‑on Driver/Technician for our busy depot. You will receive, prepare, test and despatch equipment, and also deliver, demonstrate and collect specialist gear for customers and suppliers within the Vp Group.
You will ensure activities are carried out safely, professionally and on time to protect our reputation for customer service. This role combines equipment maintenance, driving, and customer interaction to ensure smooth service delivery and reliable performance
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence is required.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Knowledge of the local area is desirable.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and follow procedures.
- Commitment to safe working practices and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver, demonstrate, and collect equipment safely and professionally.
- Liaise with sales and depot teams to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain and service equipment to minimum quality standards.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Keep the depot organised, clean, and secure.
- Complete start/finish of hire documentation on time.
- Identify potential new customers or sites and alert your line manager.
- Load and transport equipment safely in compliance with legislation.
- Follow health and safety procedures and report concerns.
- Carry out other duties to support depot operations.
