Job summary

Groundforce, part of Vp plc, is seeking a Class 2 LGV Driver to support our depot with safe delivery and collection of Groundforce products across the UK. You will drive professionally, conduct daily vehicle checks, and maintain accurate tachograph records while ensuring compliance with DVSA rules.

The role requires a Class 2/C license with CPC, a clean driving history, and a customer-focused approach. Occasional night outs and travel to various depots and sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Class 2/C category license required and valid CPC.
• Desirable: flatbed experience (training provided).
• Customer-centric approach and good communication skills.
• Willingness to do occasional night-out stays.
• Knowledge of local and regional area is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers and other Vp businesses safely and on time.
• Ensure DVSA compliance and maintain tachographs.
• Inspect and maintain the vehicle daily and during weekly clean.
• Load equipment correctly and securely; manage loss/damage records with photos.
• Support with query resolution and assist at depots and sites as needed.
• Carry out other duties within skill and competence to help the business.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Class 2 LGV Driver to join our existing team and provide full support to the depot in the safe delivery and collection of all Vp Groundforce products. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers and other Vp businesses professionally, safely and on time in line with level of competency, ensuring company policies and processes are followed
• Ensure Driver regulations are consistently adhered to under the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA)
• Conduct a thorough daily defect inspection on the vehicle and record this before any use
• Clean and maintain the vehicle on a weekly basis
• Ensure accurate tachograph records are maintained to include driving periods, rest periods, other duties, etc. and are readily available for inspection
• Ensure equipment is loaded correctly, safely and securely restrained
• Greet Customers with a friendly face and helpful attitude ensuring
• Identify our equipment and advise of loss or damage, taking confirmation photos where applicable
• Proactively assist with query resolution by taking photos of the load prior to unloading and after loading at our depots, customer sites and suppliers
• Requirement for sleeping out on an infrequent basis while delivering or collecting equipment from Groundforce depots, customer sites and suppliers
• When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.

What We’re Looking For

• Class 2 license/C category License (Minimum) – Essential
• Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) – Essential
• Flatbed experience (training provided) – Advantageous
• Valid full clean driving licence – Advantageous
• Customer Centric approach
• Willingness to do the occasional ‘night out’
• Good communication and interpersonal skills – Essential
• Knowledge of the local & regional geographical area – Advantageous
• Working knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry – Advantageous
• Experienced in delivering/collecting heavy goods to construction sites – Advantageous
