Job summary

Stuart Power Ltd in Shropham is seeking a Mobile Generator Service Engineer to join our depot team. You will service and repair our rental fleet of diesel generators, pumps and lighting towers, travelling to sites as required.

The role requires a full UK driving license, flexibility with hours and on-call duties. You will identify parts, load test equipment, and provide engineering support to depot operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engines and maintenance of generators/pumps.
• Strong time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Good mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service and repairs on our rental fleet at various sites and at depot.
• Prepare equipment for hire.
• Fault diagnose and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on generators, pumps and lighting towers.
• Identify parts required to facilitate repairs.
• Load test on generators to ensure effectiveness of equipment.
• Provide engineer support to depot operations.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity within our company for a Mobile Generator Service Engineer at our Shropham depot.

This role involves carrying out service and maintenance repairs on our rental fleet of diesel-powered generators, pumps and lighting towers.

The nature of this role requires travel to and from site for both service and breakdown calls therefore, a UK driving licence is essential.

This position is full time and flexibility in respect of working hours is expected, as is an availability to work the companies on call out of hours rota.

Duties include:

• Carry out service and repairs on our rental fleet at various sites and at depot
• Preparation of equipment for hire
• Fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on generators, pumps and lighting towers
• Identify parts required to facilitate effective repairs
• Load test on generators to ensure effectiveness of equipment
• Provide engineer support to depot operations

Skills Required:

• A good knowledge of diesel engines
• Experience of working with generators and or pumps
• Good time management, ability to organise and prioritise work under pressure
• Attention to detail
• Good mechanical knowledge

Desirable but not essential:

• Previous experience within a rental environment
• Experience of generator control systems and control panels such as Deep Sea and Power Wizard
• Forklift licence (training can be given)
