Job summary

Total Facilities Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Electrical Engineer to cover the Colchester/Chelmsford area. You will deliver reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor projects, while ensuring compliance with all safety documentation and client processes.

You will maintain records, meet SLA deadlines, and contribute to multi-skilled tasks across various installations. A strong electrical background with up-to-date regulations is required, with an occasional out-of-hours rota.

Qualifications

• Essential electrical qualifications and compliance with safe working practices.
• Proven ability to plan and record maintenance and repairs.
• Comfort using PDA and CAFM systems for job management.

Responsibilities

• Reactive repairs and maintenance for Colchester/Chelmsford area.
• Adhere to safe systems of work and client procedures.
• Keep accurate records and report follow-up recommendations.
• Complete planned and reactive works to SLA deadlines.
• Assist with minor new works and small projects when required.
• Provide proactive, customer-focused service delivery.
• Work across domestic, industrial and commercial installations.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and overtime as needed.

Core Responsibilities

• Working as a Mobile Electrical Engineer covering Colchester/Chelmsford area - delivering reactive repairs, maintenance tasks, and minor project works.
• Ensuring full compliance with safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements, and all relevant health and safety documentation.
• Following client‑specific working processes and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of all completed works along with any follow‑up recommendations.
• Completing planned and reactive repairs in line with SLA requirements and deadlines.
• Demonstrating strong building services knowledge and the ability to carry out additional multi‑skilled tasks when required.
• Assisting with minor new works and small project installations.
• Providing proactive, customer‑focused communication and service delivery.
• Adhering to all FM procedures and systems and ensuring clear and legible record‑keeping.
• Working across domestic, industrial and commercial installations.
• Participating in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota and working occasional overtime.

What You Need to Succeed

Essential

• Approved City & Guilds Electrician or Building Services equivalent qualification
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Qualified to 18th Edition IEE Regulations
• Strong organisational skills and a positive attitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach
• Confidence using a PDA and CAFM systems for job management and email
