Job description

JOB TITLE: Electrician

PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: Mobile Worker Covering Midlands (Birmingham, Coventry)

You are required to travel to and work at various locations within the Midlands as the Company shall reasonably require for the proper performance of your duties.

SALARY: GBP37,000 - GBP40,000

HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Directors

RECRUITMENT: This post is subject to satisfactory DBS and reference checks.

Summary of Duties:

• Service and maintenance of electrical appliances within both commercial and domestic properties.
• Electrical experience within both commercial and domestic properties.

Main Duties:

1. Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose, and repair in a timely and cost-effective manner.
2. Carry out day-to-day responsive maintenance, service, and repairs as instructed.
3. Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements and inform the relevant director if the original job order does not reflect actual works needed.
4. Inform the customer (with reason) when a repair cannot be completed on the first visit and arrange to return, informing the relevant director.
5. Direct helpers engaged in assembly or installation of air conditioning systems or components.
6. Liaise with management and/or clients to ensure all works are completed.
7. Ensure all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with current codes and practices.
8. Abide by all client rules and regulations whilst on site.
9. Seek cost-effective approaches when purchasing materials.
10. Maintain and update all required training.
11. Accurately complete all relevant documentation and promptly return all information related to daily tasks.
12. If a company vehicle is provided, ensure it is used in accordance with company policies.
13. Operate and maintain company property (vehicles, tools, uniforms) safely and in good condition.
14. Proactively find and quote additional works when appropriate.
15. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of site experience in electrical installations.
• Good knowledge of BS 7671 - IET Wiring Regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical services and products.
• Awareness of health & safety issues and safe working methods.
• Attention to detail and motivation to succeed.
• Full UK (clean) driving license.

Preferences:

• City & Guilds BS7671:2018 Level 3 - Electrical Installations.
• City & Guilds 2391 - Testing and Inspecting.
• Enhanced DBS verification.

Role Responsibilities:

• Commercial & residential electrical installations.
• 1 and 3-phase power installations.
• EICR electrical testing.
• Energy-saving LED lighting upgrades.
• Planned and reactive electrical service & maintenance.
