Job summary

HVAC Recruitment seeks a Mobile Electrical Engineer to maintain electrical systems across a portfolio of residential-style sites around Colchester. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with no call-out rota and a salary around £43,000 per year.

You'll perform planned and reactive maintenance, with some minor fabric tasks. The work is varied, mainly electrical, and involves travel between local sites within Colchester and surrounding areas.

Mobile Electrical Engineer

Location: Colchester and surrounding areas

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (some flexibility available)

Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Electrical Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider, working across a portfolio of commercial and residential-style properties in and around Colchester.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a varied mobile role and is looking for a Monday-to-Friday position with no call-out rota.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a range of sites. The portfolio consists largely of converted residential properties and townhouses, so you'll be working in a varied environment rather than a traditional large commercial building.

The role is predominantly electrical, although you'll also be expected to be comfortable carrying out minor fabric and general maintenance tasks when required.

Typical duties will include:

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Reactive electrical maintenance and fault finding
• Electrical repairs and installations
• Testing and inspection
• Diagnosing electrical faults
• Supporting the wider facilities team
• Minor fabric/general maintenance tasks
• Completing maintenance records and relevant paperwork
• Travelling between sites across the local area

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a qualified and experienced electrician with a strong maintenance background.

You should have:

• A recognised electrical qualification
• 18th Edition / BS7671
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a commercial, facilities or similar maintenance environment
• The ability to work independently while managing a mobile workload
• A willingness to undertake basic fabric/general maintenance when required
• Full UK driving licence
