Job Purpose/Objectives of a Mobile Crane Operator

To provide high-quality lifting services to our customers, prioritizing the safety of employees, customers, and the public.

Key Responsibilities of a Mobile Crane Operator

• Operate cranes according to manufacturer’s instructions at all times.
• Follow road traffic regulations.
• Wear PPE appropriately.
• Use outriggers correctly, ensuring they are used on level ground.
• Set and check the rated capacity limiter and indicator.
• Properly use manual handling equipment, such as outrigger pans.
• Liaise with Site/Project Managers upon arrival on site.
• Resist pressures to perform unsafe operations.
• Understand and apply information from reports and duty charts related to crane operation and safety.
• Be aware of wind and climatic effects on crane and load safety.
• Take action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations if necessary.
• Operate fire suppressant systems if fitted.
• Access and depart the crane safely using ladders and grab rails.
• Undergo training on specific crane models, rigging, and maintenance procedures; familiarize with all crane documentation.
• Continuously seek improvements in role performance to meet business objectives.
