Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Casual Security Officer to support multiple court and tribunal buildings around Brighton & Hove. The role covers access control, incident response and CCTV operations across sites, with shifts varying by site requirements.

You will travel between locations and maintain a welcoming, professional approach. The ideal candidate holds a valid SIA licence, is able to pass enhanced DBS, and demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills in a security

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and be able to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• A valid SIA Licence and relevant security experience are required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Professional, reliable and detail‑oriented approach is needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, welcoming and customer-focused service to all court users.
• Control access to buildings and follow security procedures at all times.
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, X-ray machines and handheld detectors.
• Conduct bag searches on entry and monitor public and restricted areas.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and security concerns promptly and effectively.
• Patrol court buildings and satellite locations as required.
• Accurately record and report incidents and activities.
• Support safe and secure movement of people within the building.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and compliance at all times.
