North Yorkshire Councils is recruiting a Mobile Cook to cover in Whitby, Scarborough, Ryedale and surrounding areas. This is a term-time, permanent role with 25 hours per week, typically 7.30am–2.00pm, traveling between schools to prepare nutritious meals.

You will lead kitchen teams, manage stock, and uphold high standards of food safety and customer service while enjoying a flexible, family-friendly schedule. Recruitment payment up to £500 may be payable for the right candidate.

Salary: £13.92 - £14.59 per hour+ up to £500 recruitment payment*

Passionate about cooking? Looking for a role that fits around you? We are currently recruiting a Mobile Cook to cover in Whitby, Scarborough, Ryedale and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is reliable, enjoys variety and looking for a flexible working pattern.

You’ll travel between schools, taking in the stunning North Yorkshire landscape along the way. From the dramatic Yorkshire coastline and bustling seaside towns to picturesque market towns, peaceful countryside and rolling moors, you’ll work in some of the region’s most beautiful surroundings.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. You’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious school meals using locally sourced ingredients
• Leading and supporting kitchen teams to deliver an excellent service
• Serving meals to pupils and staff with a friendly, customer-focused approach
• Managing food orders and stock levels
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Completing food safety records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

As a Mobile Cook, you’ll travel between schools, providing support wherever it’s needed and helping ensure every kitchen delivers a fantastic dining experience for children.
