Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting Chaperone Technicians to join our Technical Services team supporting the EOS contract. This is a mobile role combining chaperone and escorting duties with general building-fabric maintenance across designated government sites in London.

You will travel within your region, escorting personnel and performing planned reactive maintenance. You will ensure safety, compliance and high standards, liaising with engineers, supervisors and security teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, fabric maintenance or general handyperson roles.
• Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, masonry repairs, locksmith work and ceiling grids or tiles.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety and safe systems of work.
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
• Current, valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out chaperone and escorting duties across designated sites.
• Escort contractors and authorised personnel while they complete work within secure environments and report remedial works.
• Plan, inspect and complete repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance requirements promptly.
• Complete delegated reactive work orders and planned preventive maintenance within budgets and SLAs.
• Undertake basic general building-fabric and maintenance repairs.
• Provide general handyman services, including L8 duties.
• Support wider maintenance team and liaise with subcontractors, cleaning teams and security colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records and update work orders using tablet systems.
• Support out of hours work where required.
