Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting Chaperone Technicians to join our Technical Services team, supporting the EOS contract. This mobile role combines chaperone duties with general building fabric maintenance across government sites.

You will escort contractors on site, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and travel across your designated region. You will also participate in the contract’s callout rota and work safely to high standards.

Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance, fabric maintenance or general handyperson roles.
Hands‑on skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, locksmithing, ceiling grids or tiles.
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and safe systems of work.
Ability to follow safety documentation and contribute to site safety plans.

Responsibilities

Carry out chaperone and escort duties across designated sites.
Escort contractors and authorised personnel within secure environments and report needed repairs.
Plan, inspect and complete repairs and preventative maintenance.
Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance promptly.
Complete work orders and preventive maintenance within budgets and KPIs.
Provide general handyman services and basic repairs.
Support wider maintenance team and liaise with subcontractors and security colleagues.
Maintain safe systems of work before starting activities and ensure site standards.
