Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Building Services Engineer to join our team working on key contracts around East Anglia.

You will be required to carry out general maintenance and statutory compliance checks, with basic plumbing, electrical, and fabric maintenance skills, ideally with experience in a similar facilities management environment.

The role involves client engagement and providing solutions to meet their needs, so maintaining a professional appearance is important. Good spoken and written English is required.

Early starts and late finishes may be necessary to complete disruptive works with minimal disruption. The role also involves proactive planning, material arrangements, quotation preparations, and managing client expectations.

Experience with a CAFM system is desirable, as all work is managed via a CAFM-based solution. H&S experience is also desirable for managing sub-contractors.

Main Duties:

  • Planning, inspecting, and performing repairs or preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns promptly.
  • Carrying out reactive and planned services in various environments, including offices, commercial, distribution, and industrial premises.
  • Possessing trade skills or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Conducting statutory asset inspections, including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspections and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checks, and other minor reactive works.
  • Representing the company professionally, handling complaints and queries.
  • Supporting engineer sub-contractors on-site.
  • Providing technical guidance to clients and supporting contracts.
  • Performing minor building fabric repairs.
  • Ensuring all work complies with specifications and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Maintaining site documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ideally C&G qualified in a trade.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in a building discipline.
  • Legionella control qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration, and statutory ppm inspections, with good H&S knowledge.
  • Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes.
  • Experience in risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Experience with BMS systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 is desirable.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills, both on worksheets and computer systems.
  • Full UK driving license required for vehicle use.
