Job summary

Artic Building Services is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Boiler Engineer to service and maintain boiler plant across London sites, including Kings College Hospital. The role covers PPM, reactive breakdown support, fault-finding, installation, combustion analysis, and gas safety inspections to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability of heating systems.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of mobile boiler experience, a Commercial Gas Safe accreditation, and a full UK driving licence,

Qualifications

• Full current Commercial Gas Safe accreditations including COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A or TPCP1, CORT1 is desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heating & Ventilation, Gas Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Mobile Boiler Engineer on commercial/industrial boiler systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence (clean preferred).
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to boiler operations.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Basic electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) for boiler control.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial and industrial boiler plant and related heating systems.
• Respond promptly to reactive breakdown calls, diagnose faults, and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Fault-find on electrical, mechanical, and gas/oil components of boiler systems.
• Carry out boiler installations, commissioning, and de-commissioning as required.
• Perform combustion analysis to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Conduct gas safety inspections and maintain related records and certifications.
• Identify and rectify defects on pumps, valves, plate heat exchangers, flue systems, and control panels.
• Provide clear technical reports detailing work completed, parts used, and recommendations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations (Gas Safe, OFTEC, LOLER, COSHH, CDM).
• Liaise with clients, provide professional advice and maintain excellent customer service.
• Manage vehicle stock and inventory records.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order.
