Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital division, primarily serving Bristol and surrounding areas on a full-time basis.

Our Digital team offers an exciting opportunity to upgrade and enhance Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government nationwide. Our goal is to make sites Smart Enabled, enabling us to introduce additional value through IoT solutions, which provide social, economic, and environmental benefits to the communities we serve.

We handle projects ranging from £10k to £1.5m, supported by a blend of in-house teams and specialist supply chain partners. With aggressive growth planned over the next 3-5 years, this role is crucial in shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key Activities:

The BMS Service Engineer will perform tasks on contracted customer sites such as PFI Schools, Hospitals, Government Estates, and MOD sites. Daily responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components like sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Conducting maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMSs.
• Participating in a reactive call-out rota (additional pay included).
• Providing technical support and advice to clients regarding BMS systems.
• Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
• Preparing proposals and quotes for work.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
• Extensive experience with BMS/HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
• Strong understanding of electrical industry standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
• Understanding of IT networks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Controls training or experience.
• Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
• Willingness to undergo DBS and BPSS vetting.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
