Job summary

IKEA Newcastle-based Mobile Bedrooms Designer role invites you to bring IKEA showroom inspiration directly into customers' homes. You will meet clients, understand their needs, measure spaces accurately, and tailor solution plans that fit their lifestyle and budget.

You will manage appointment scheduling, deliver a seamless end-to-end experience from initial contact through to payment, and stay updated on IKEA services and product updates to recommend the best options.

Qualifications

• Full driving license (2+ years) required.
• Confidence building relationships with customers.
• Self-motivated and organised; able to manage own schedule.
• Accurate measurements and proficiency with Microsoft Office and planning tools.
• Passion for home furnishings and understanding customer buying behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Meet customers in their homes to understand needs and propose personalised space plans.
• Manage the full flow from booking to payment, ensuring a seamless customer journey.
• Stay informed about IKEA services and product updates to recommend best solutions.
• Support the Bedrooms department when needed and assist in scheduling.
• Work toward sales targets and KPIs to help drive store performance.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Start date of employment: 7th November 2026


• Salary: £13:45 per hour with an additional responsibility allowance


• Full Time: 39 Hours working 5 days per week including evenings and alternate weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Have held a full driving license for 2+ years.


• Confident in building relationships with customers and recommending products that meet their needs.


• You are a self-motivated and organised individual who enjoys working independently and takes ownership of managing your own appointment schedule and workload.


• Confident in taking accurate measurements and experienced in using a range of computer systems, including Microsoft Office and planning tools.


• Passionate about home furnishings, with an interest in understanding customer buying behaviours to provide tailored solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Meeting customers in their homes to gain a deeper understanding of their needs, offering inspiration and guidance to create personalised solutions for their space and lifestyle.


• Responsible for delivering a seamless customer experience from booking the initial appointment and planning solutions through to payment, while also following up with customers after their home visit.


• Working alongside the Bedrooms Shopkeeper, you will stay informed about IKEA services and product updates to help customers find the right solutions.


• When not planning in customers' homes, there will be an expectation for you to support the Bedrooms department when needed.


• Working closely with sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), helping drive success for both customers and the business.
