Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Relief Officer to oversee security across multiple court and tribunal sites around Wolverhampton. You will manage access control, monitor activity and respond to incidents, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

This daytime, mobile role involves relocating between sites within a defined radius, with a 40-hour work week and potential for overtime. Right to work in the UK and a valid SIA licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK. DBS and BS7858 security clearance may be required.
• SIA Licence held and relevant security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, reliable and detail-focused approach.
• Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming and customer‑focused service to all court users.
• Control access to buildings following security procedures at all times.
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, x-ray machines and handheld metal detectors.
• Conduct searches in line with site procedures.
• Patrol public and restricted areas and communicate with control points.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents and security concerns.
• Accurately record and report all incidents and activities.
• Support safe movement of people within the building and maintain professionalism.
