QED Legal Recruitment Limited is working with a Gloucester-based law firm to recruit a Compliance Manager. The role covers risk, regulatory compliance, AML and data protection across the group, reporting directly to the Managing Directors.

You will be the main point of contact for compliance and have scope to improve processes and shape how the function operates. The role is hybrid (3 days in the Gloucester office) with opportunities to lead, train and audit, and to influence governance and

Qualifications

• MLRO experience and broader compliance/risk management background.
• Experience establishing policies, conducting audits and delivering training.
• SRA compliance in legal services or FCA-regulated financial services is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance with SRA regulations and maintain policies, procedures and controls.
• Act as MLRO, overseeing AML, risk assessments, suspicious activity reporting and financial crime escalations.
• Manage GDPR, data protection and information governance requirements.
• Conduct compliance audits, file reviews and quality assurance checks.
• Oversee complaints handling and identify improvements.
• Coordinate professional indemnity insurance renewals and risk matters.
• Support CQS accreditation, lender panel requirements and governance.
• Deliver practical compliance training and report risks to senior leadership.
