Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Mid-Level Data MLOps Engineer to operationalise, scale and maintain ML models in production. You will build and automate the infrastructure powering retail ML initiatives on GCP, including Vertex AI and IaC with Terraform, plus CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll collaborate with Data Ops leadership, data science, and data engineering partners to deliver forecasting, inventory optimization, and personalized customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of production experience in MLOps/DevOps focused on productionising models.
• Proficient Python development with clean, modular, testable code.
• Experience implementing Vertex AI ML Pipelines and managing production ML lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Design, orchestrate, and maintain automated ML pipelines using Vertex AI ML Pipelines and Apache Airflow.
• Own the model deployment process including data pre-processing, performance tuning and automated continued training.
• Provision and manage secure GCP environments and ML infra with Terraform.
• Build and optimize automated deployment pipelines with Jenkins; manage Docker containers and registries.
• Enforce software engineering best practices with unit tests (pytest) and static analysis in CI pipelines.
• Interface with core retail data warehouse, optimize BigQuery data retrieval and feature processing via Dataflow.
• Implement monitoring for model/data drift and latency to ensure production models remain reliable.
