Job summary

Understanding Recruitment is assisting a fast-growing UK AI company in Nottingham to hire a Data Scientist who sits between research and engineering. You will translate new ML ideas into robust production systems and work with researchers, product and engineering teams.

The role involves building models across traditional ML, deep learning and Generative AI, deploying them to production, and contributing to architectural roadmaps. A strong background in Python/SQL and CI/CD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and experimentation.
• Experience deploying machine learning into production environments.
• Solid knowledge of traditional ML techniques.
• Understanding of deep learning, transformers and Generative AI.

Responsibilities

• Take new ML and AI models from research into production.
• Work across traditional ML, deep learning, transformers and Generative AI.
• Build solutions around large-scale, complex datasets.
• Work closely with researchers, academics, product and engineering teams.
• Contribute to architecture and longer-term technical roadmaps.
• Lead and contribute to R&D sprints.
• Build reliable, high-quality ML software.
