Job summary

PureGym is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Team in London. This hybrid role combines home and the Angel office, with ownership of ML models from notebook to production and ongoing maintenance.

You will work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to implement MLOps, build CI/CD pipelines with Databricks/MLflow, monitor data drift, and optimize model performance while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Experience taking ML models into production and keeping them running reliably.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with good software engineering practices.
• Experience with MLflow or similar model lifecycle tooling.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Degree in Computing, Engineering or a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the path to production for ML models, including packaging, deployment, release management and rollback with Databricks and MLflow.
• Build robust CI/CD pipelines for models and data science code.
• Build monitoring for data drift, model performance and pipeline health.
• Automate recurring model runs, retraining and scoring.
• Turn models into reusable production components on the semantic layer.
• Help define and evolve MLOps standards (versioning, model registry, docs).
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists on design for production needs.
• Coach Data Scientists on software engineering best practices.
• Monitor cost and performance of the model estate and improve efficiency.
• Shape how ML engineering is done at PureGym for scalability.
