Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe is recruiting an RTE Mixing room operative for our Grantham production team. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot heavy-duty mixing machinery in a high-pressure environment to support daily production targets.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to handle heavy baskets and pallets, and strong teamwork with experienced colleagues. We offer on-the-job training and a competitive salary starting at £27,007 per year, with development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, assemble, dismantle, and troubleshoot industrial mixing machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report issues promptly.
• Decant 15 kg baskets and push 180–200 kg tubs during shifts.
• Maintain batch records and ensure product quality throughout the process.
• Collaborate with production staff to resolve operational challenges.

Salary starts from £519, £27 007 per year

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 alternating

Job Purpose

To efficiently operate, maintain, and manage heavy-duty mixing machinery while ensuring seamless workflow in a high-pressure production environment. The role demands exceptional physical capability, technical problem-solving skills, and teamwork to meet stringent production targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Maintenance:
   • Safely assemble, dismantle, operate, and troubleshoot industrial mixing machinery.
   • Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
   • Adhere to strict operational protocols and safety guidelines.
2. Material Handling:
   • Decant 15kg baskets of raw materials throughout the shift.
   • Manually push tubs weighing 180–200 kg
   • Ensure accurate material measurement and mixing ratios.
3. Workflow Management:
   • Maintain consistent output in a fast-paced environment to meet daily production quotas.
   • Monitor mixing processes, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure product quality.
   • Document batch records and maintain cleanliness in the mixing area.
4. Team Collaboration:
   • Work closely with experienced production staff to resolve operational challenges.

Physical Demands

• Heavy lifting (lifting up to 25kg baskets) and pushing loads of 180–200 kg.
• Standing for 90% of the shift with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Operating in environments with moderate noise and cold.
