Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Grantham is seeking an Area Controller for night shifts to lead production operatives and drive safety, quality and efficiency. You will act as the first point of contact for line issues and ensure GMP and food safety standards are applied across your area.

Key duties include coordinating labour, managing stock and paperwork, and supporting continuous improvement while maintaining strong housekeeping and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and food manufacturing standards.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when completing paperwork and system transactions.
• Flexible, proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support production operatives within your designated area.
• Act as the first point of contact for team members regarding line and area-related issues.
• Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, quality standards, and company procedures.
• Monitor stock levels, stock rotation, waste management, and inventory accuracy.
• Complete SAP transactions and production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Coordinate labour and breaks to maximise production efficiency.
• Investigate stock variances and support continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively with Area Leaders, QA teams, and other departments.
• Support environmental and sustainability initiatives across the business.

Pilgrim's Europe is one of the UK's leading food manufacturers, and we're currently looking for an Area Controller to join our team in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Shift pattern: Sunday to Thursday - 22.00-06.00

Salary tarts from £638 per week, £33 176 per year.
