Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Head of Safety - Mission Systems to lead safety, certification and product integrity across the ISP portfolio. You will drive independent assurance, support Certificates of Design and perform Design Reviews with specialist engineers, ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements in land systems.

The role requires extensive experience in safety analysis, certification strategies, and stakeholder management within a highly regulated defence environment.

Qualifications

• Experience analysing complex systems from a Product Safety and Product Environmental Impact Management perspective, including Product Security influence.

Responsibilities

• Identify Basis of Certification and develop executable development and certification plans.
• Provide independent Safety Management input to IPTs and design reviews.
• Ensure governance and regulatory obligations are met through independent assessment of risks.
• Lead Product Safety Panels and engage with internal/external stakeholders on compliance.
• Support certification in regulated environments and maintain data in corrective action systems.
• Participate in standards groups and with partners on development standards and compliant practices.
