Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking a highly skilled solutions engineer to design, build, and deploy Palantir Foundry data pipelines and ontology models for defence and security operations. You will integrate live intelligence into operational workflows and C2 tools while guiding customers technically.

The role requires 3+ years of production experience, strong software engineering foundations, and willingness to travel to customer sites across Europe.

Qualifications

Strong engineering background in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, or a technical field.
Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories, Workbooks, and application development.
Fluency in Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, or Go.
Three or more years of professional software or solutions engineering experience shipping systems into production.
Ability to learn platform architectures and data models quickly.
Experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
Solid Linux, networking, and on-premise fundamentals; willingness to work on site in secure facilities.
Right to work in the EU or UK-based; security clearance required.

Responsibilities

Work with defence and security users to understand situational-awareness and force-protection needs.
Scope solutions for operational requirements and design end-to-end deployments.
Build, deploy, and maintain Palantir Foundry data pipelines and ontology models.
Integrate live intelligence into workflows, common operating pictures, and C2 tooling.

Job description

Work with defence and security users to understand situational-awareness and force-protection needs
Scope solutions for operational requirements
Design, build, and deploy Palantir Foundry data pipelines, ontology models, and operator-facing applications
Integrate live intelligence into existing workflows, common operating pictures, and command-and-control tooling
Build and tune custom widgets for user needs
Own solutions end to end from whiteboard through deployment and operations
Debug infrastructure, networking, and application issues across the stack
Work in restricted, disconnected, or on-premise environments
Advise customer engineers and operators technically
Incorporate customer feedback into the product
Travel to customer sites and operations centres in Europe approximately 25% to 75% of the time

Requirements

Strong engineering background in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, or an equally technical field
Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories, Workbooks, and application development
Fluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, or Go
Three or more years of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering experience shipping systems into production
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar platform architectures and data models
Experience with containers such as Docker or Podman
Experience with orchestration using Kubernetes or OpenShift
Solid Linux, networking, and on-premise fundamentals
Willingness to travel and work on site in secure customer facilities
Candidates must have the right to work in the EU, or be UK-based
Security clearance required
Ease working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have: experience in classified, air-gapped, or disconnected environments; defence, intelligence, national-security, or emergency-management background; geospatial platforms such as Esri or ArcGIS; command-and-control systems; front-end frameworks; NATO and national defence accreditation and compliance; a second European language
