Job summary

Worky is seeking an engineer to join a real-time intelligence platform used by defence, national-security and NATO-aligned organisations across Europe. You will design pipelines, ontology and applications that bring live intelligence together with customers’ data and own the result from whiteboard to production.

You will work with users to define what matters in situational awareness, build on Palantir Foundry, and deploy data pipelines, models and operator-facing widgets.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in CS, software, maths or physics.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry work: pipelines, ontology, modules and apps.
• Fluent in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash or Go.
• 3+ years in software or solutions engineering delivering production systems.
• Ability to adapt to new platform architectures and data models.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/K8s/OpenShift); solid Linux basics.

Responsibilities

• Meet defence and security users to identify critical situational needs.
• Design, build and deploy on Palantir Foundry: pipelines, ontology, models and apps.
• Integrate live intelligence into workflows and common operating pictures.
• Develop custom widgets tailored to user needs.
• Own end-to-end solutions with strong technical judgement.
• Debug across the stack—infrastructure, network, application—in constrained environments.
• Advise customer engineers and feed feedback into the product.

Hybrid: remote, with trips to Mons, Belgium — three days on site every second week.

An engineering seat on a real-time intelligence platform used by defence, national-security and NATO-aligned organisations across Europe. Small team, a great deal of ownership: an operational question arrives open-ended, and your job is to turn it into something operators genuinely rely on — in the field or in an operations centre.

The heart of the work is Palantir Foundry. You design the pipelines, the ontology and the applications that bring live intelligence together with the customer's own operational data — sensor feeds, asset and unit positions, mission context — and you own the result from the first sketch on a whiteboard to a system people depend on.

What you would be doing

• Sitting with defence and security users to understand what matters most to them in situational awareness and force protection, then scoping solutions against it.
• Designing, building and deploying on Palantir Foundry — data pipelines, ontology models and operator-facing applications.
• Bringing live intelligence into the workflows, common operating pictures and command-and-control tooling already in use, so that people with very different information needs each receive what is relevant to their mission.
• Building and tuning custom widgets where that is what the user actually needs.
• Owning solutions end to end, with little supervision and sound technical judgement of your own.
• Debugging across the whole stack — infrastructure, networking, application — often in restricted, disconnected or on-premise settings.
• Being the technical adviser the customer's engineers and operators trust, and carrying their feedback back into the product.
• Travelling to customer sites and operations centres in Europe, roughly a quarter to three quarters of the time.

What you would bring

• A strong engineering background — computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or something equally technical.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry work: pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories and Workbooks, application development. This one is core to the role.
• Fluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript or JavaScript, Bash, Go.
• Three years or more of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering, shipping systems into production.
• The knack of picking up an unfamiliar platform architecture and data model quickly, and of reasoning about how a technical decision lands on the operator.
• Containers (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift), with solid Linux, networking and on-premise fundamentals.
• Ease with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, and with objectives that shift as the mission does.
• Willingness to travel and to work on site in secure customer facilities.

Nice to have

• Software delivered in classified, air-gapped or otherwise disconnected environments.
• A background supporting defence, intelligence, national-security or emergency-management work.
• Geospatial platforms and common-operating-picture tooling (Esri, ArcGIS), or command-and-control systems.
• Front-end frameworks, and data-rich applications built for operators.
• A feel for how NATO and national defence customers handle accreditation and compliance.
• A second European language.
