Job summary

Hyra in the United Kingdom is seeking a Product Test Engineer to join a growing test team. You will perform product performance testing on mission-critical communications equipment, ensuring requirements are met before sign-off.

You will work with a small group to verify against specifications and contribute to test documentation and improvements. The role emphasises methodical, detail-focused testing, setup of test equipment, and a track record of accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in product test, verification or development test in electronics/communications.
• HNC or above in electronic/electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Methodical, detail-focused testing and documentation.
• Ability to set up test equipment and follow defined test procedures.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and test requirements.
• Clear communication within a small team.
• RF/communications equipment knowledge desirable.
• Need to obtain/maintain UK Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out product performance testing to meet project requirements.
• Test communications products per internal engineering and quality procedures.
• Verify products against specifications within a small development team.
• Set up test equipment and run structured, repeatable test procedures.
• Record test results and produce clear documentation/reports.
• Investigate test failures and support fault diagnosis with engineering.
• Feed findings back into development processes and improvements.
• Support wider test and development activities as workload requires.
