Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Critical Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations for a highly resilient, mission-critical facility in Romford, Essex. The role combines technical leadership with responsibility for 24/7 operations, safety, and continuous improvement.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, oversee budgets and contractor relationships, and drive asset lifecycle planning, plant optimisation and capital projects in a client-side environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience leading engineering or maintenance teams.
• Strong Electrical and Mechanical building services knowledge.
• Experience within mission-critical, highly resilient or business-critical facilities.
• HV/LV and/or Mechanical Authorised Person experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of PPM, compliance, asset management and engineering risk.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and engineering budgets.
• NEBOSH and professional engineering membership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7 operation of a critical facility and ensure reliability.
• Lead and develop a multi-skilled engineering team.
• Drive maintenance standards, compliance, safety and continuous improvement.
• Manage planned and reactive maintenance, incidents, safe systems of work, and budgets.
• Contribute to asset lifecycle planning, plant optimisation and minor works/capital projects.
• Act as a senior technical authority across critical engineering systems.
