Job summary

Line Up Aviation is seeking an adaptable Embedded Software Engineer in the Bristol area to join a growing defence software team. You will develop mission-critical embedded software, participate in the full SDLC, and work in a medium-sized team with autonomy.

The role involves Linux RT software development, Rhapsody UML, and rigorous testing across unit, integration, and hardware interfaces within a lab setting. A 6-month contract with a Monday–Friday schedule is offered, onsite in Bristol.

Qualifications

• Real-time Linux Embedded software development in C++.
• Experience with Rhapsody UML or similar tool.
• Experience in functional/integration tests and hardware testing.
• Ability to develop and test software to requirements and ICDs.
• Familiar with configuration management tools such as RTC/EWM.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded Real-Time software on Linux using C++ in a multi-threaded environment.
• Write unit and integration tests and perform hardware integration testing.
• Adhere to Project Planning and Quality processes.
• Use JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
• Work in a lab environment with target hardware.
