Job summary

Line Up Aviation seeks an adaptable Embedded Software Engineer for a defence-focused project in Bristol. You will develop real-time embedded software on Linux, using Rhapsody UML and C++ within a multi-threaded environment and contribute across the software life cycle.

The role is on-site, 6-month contract, 37 hours per week, inside IR35, with security clearance required to start. You will work in a mid-sized software team, perform unit and integration tests with target hardware, and use JIRA

Qualifications

Significant experience with real-time software using C++.
Experience with Rhapsody UML or similar tool.
Experience writing unit and integration tests with hardware testing.
Proven ability to develop software to requirements and ICDs.
Familiar with DOORS and configuration management tools (RTC/EWM).
Knowledge of Python / Ada / FreeRTOS beneficial.
Proactive, adaptable, and strong communicator.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded real-time software on Linux using C++ and Rhapsody within multi-threaded applications.
Write unit and functional tests; conduct hardware integration testing.
Follow project planning and project quality processes.
Use JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
Work in a lab environment running software on target hardware.
