Job summary

The Diocese of Sheffield invites applications for the MES Coordinator (Mat Cover) to lead recruitment and placement coordination for the Ministry Experience Scheme. You will work with churches and partner organisations, managing placements, theology studies and pastoral care.

This 8-month fixed-term role is part-time (10 hours/week) with flexible working and home-based arrangements, supported by a non-contributory pension and generous leave. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, organised and reliable with strong communication.
• Able to work with a range of churches and partners.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to contribute ideas.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment for MES scheme, targeting 6–8 candidates annually.
• Coordinate placements, theology courses and MES house activities.
• Oversee MES budget, expenses and energy/council tax for the MES house.
• Arrange pastoral care, mentoring and vocational reflection for participants.
