Job description

LEAD ORDAINED MINISTRY ENABLER

The Diocese of Sheffield is called to grow a diverse network of Christ-like, lively and sustainable Christian communities in every place which are effective in making disciples and in seeking to transform our society and God’s world.

This is a new opportunity to take on a strategic oversight role which will seek to develop personalized and integrated training pathways from ordination through to experienced Oversight Ministry.

The Lead Ordained Ministry Enabler will bring leadership and direction to the ongoing formation and resourcing of clergy, enabling and equipping them as leaders in mission. The role will help strengthen an ethos of lifelong learning within ordained ministry, providing development that is tailored to both the context of individual clergy and the wider diocesan vision and strategy.

The role will also support the flourishing of curates within their training contexts, providing pastoral, spiritual and ministerial support to help prepare them for their call beyond curacy.

  • Salary £49,000 (FTE)
  • Permanent Contract – 42 hours per week (FTE)
  • Working Pattern – Monday to Friday (plus Sunday cover)
  • Clergy Pension Scheme
  • 36 Days Annual Leave per year plus Bank Holidays
  • This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure
