Job summary

Thiess is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our Production Mining Team. You will operate heavy machinery with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency, following supervisor directions and site procedures.

The role involves excavating to design boundaries, maintaining floor levels, and ensuring high housekeeping standards across the pit area. We require at least 5 years of mining experience and proven ability to operate a Hitachi EX3600, plus experience loading dump trucks in

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years mining experience as mining production excavator operator.
• Equivalent to or specific experience operating Hitachi EX3600 is essential.
• Experience in loading dump trucks in a mining production environment essential.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration.
• Skills to mine out benches and cutting batters, leaving minimal material for final trim to batter angle.
• HR drivers licence (desirable).
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Operating machinery efficiently and safely as a production operator.
• Complying with Thiess’ policies and procedures.
• Responding to instructions from Mining Supervisor.
• Excavating to design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls.
• Maintaining floor levels.
• Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within tolerances.
• Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
• Carrying out pre-start checks.
