Job summary

Westonbirt School is seeking drivers for their morning and afternoon school runs, with weekend availability as needed. Candidates should be confident interacting with children and fostering a positive transport environment.

A standard driving license is required, with a D/D1 license preferred and training available if not held. Role includes 1187.5 annual hours plus additional adhoc driving; £14.39 per hour for qualified D/D1 drivers, with overtime at the same rate where offered.

• Ability to interact confidently with children and maintain a positive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Conduct morning school runs (6:30am–9:00am) and evening runs (5:00pm–7:00pm).
• Possible weekend driving when required.
• Support safety and well‑being of pupils during transport.

Job description

Westonbirt School are seeking drivers for their morning and afternoon School runs with weekend availability when required. Candidates will need to be confident in interacting with children and be able to maintain a good atmosphere. Drivers will need to have a warm and flexible approach, be able to show initiative and work well on their own and as part of a team. A standard driving/car license will be required. The ideal candidate will have a D/D1 license, if not, there is possibility to complete training/gain further qualifications.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

Annualised hours of work will be 1187.5 hours p.a. Including both the morning (6:30am to 9:00am) and evening (5pm to 7pm) runs. 10 hours of adhoc driving work per week (340 hours per annum) such as airport runs, sports fixtures, annual maintenance for the buses and school trips plus 20 hours per week for the 4 weeks of Summer School.

Salary:

£14.39 for fully qualified D/D1 drivers. Potential overtime hours available, at the same hourly rate.
