Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a modern fleet of heavy mining equipment. The role involves inspections, diagnostics, servicing and breakdown support on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr machines.

Operate on an 8/6 roster, 7/7 days and nights, with options for residential or FIFO from Perth. Relocation assistance available and a comprehensive camp lifestyle provided.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent Heavy Diesel trade qualification.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and planned maintenance, inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support production targets.
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with OEM specs and site procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation using SAP and other systems.
• Order parts and materials and respond to breakdowns.
• Assist with major component replacements and scheduled shutdowns.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and contribute to a safety culture.
• Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and trainees.
