Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Forklift Engineer based in Milton Keynes to maintain and repair forklift trucks and related equipment for our client. The role requires carrying out routine maintenance, checking fluids, hoses and connections, and performing steering/brake checks.

Strong mechanical background and good communication are essential, with a full UK driving licence. Ex-military candidates are encouraged, but all suitable applicants will be considered.

Qualifications

• A good mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on an individual basis where required.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Experience with forklift trucks, military, agricultural or plant equipment is highly desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair of forklift trucks and other lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.
• Checking oil and fuel levels.
• Checking all related hoses and connections.
• Steering and brake checks.
• Liaising with customers regarding their individual requirements.
• Submit accurate parts requisition information to Head Office.
• Acting as the face of the company and therefore acting as a brand ambassador.
