Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Forklift Engineer for a client in Luton. The role involves servicing and repairing forklift trucks and related lifting equipment to a high standard of quality and reliability.

You will perform routine maintenance, checks on oil, fuel, hoses, steering and brakes, and liaise with customers to cover their requirements. A full UK driving licence is required, and experience with forklift or plant equipment is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• A good mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Customer focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience with forklift trucks, military, agricultural or plant equipment is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair of forklift trucks and other lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.
• Checking oil and fuel levels.
• Checking hoses and connections.
• Steering and brake checks.
• Basic electrical checks (e.g., brake lights).
• Liaising with customers regarding their requirements.
• Submitting accurate parts requisition information to Head Office.
• Acting as the face of the company and brand ambassador.
