Job summary

The Best Connection in West Bromwich seeks an experienced Mill Setter/Operator to join a well-established manufacturing team. The role involves setting and running roll forming mills, producing parts to target specifications, and maintaining quality records.

You will operate on a rotating shift pattern, with a pay rate of £17.69 per hour including shift allowance. Candidate must have hands-on experience with cold roll forming and a proactive approach to safety and quality.

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Mill Setter/Operator on behalf of our prestigious manufacturing client based in West Bromwich.

Rotating Shift Pattern

Applicants must be able to work the following rotating shifts:

Week 1

• Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00
• Friday: 06:00 - 13:00

Week 2

• Monday to Thursday: 14:00 - 22:00
• Friday: 13:00 - 20:00

Pay Rate: £17.69 per hour (including 22% shift allowance)

Key Responsibilities

As a Mill Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Setting and operating roll forming mills, presses, and associated production equipment
• Producing components to required production targets and reporting any issues affecting output
• Ensuring all products meet quality specifications
• Maintaining accurate production and quality records
• Upholding high housekeeping standards through 5S practices
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the department
• Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures and company policies
• Carrying out any additional duties required to support business operations

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Extensive experience setting and operating cold roll forming mills
• Strong knowledge of roll forming processes and equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach with a drive to achieve production targets safely
• A willingness to promote and work in line with company values, including ATIRE and SQDC principles
