Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is recruiting a Milk Tanker Driver for a 5on 3off night rota. Earn £18.61/hour with potential overtime; 10-hour shifts and additional shifts paid on weekends. UK Class 1 CE Licence and DCPC required; milk tanker experience is advantageous and full training is provided.

Role involves farm collections, sampling, lab labelling, and rural route navigation, with daily safety checks and strong teamwork.

• A minimum of 6 months' HGV driving experience.
• Milk tanker experience would be an advantage; training provided.

• Excellent geographical knowledge for route navigation.

Responsibilities

• Take on collecting fresh milk from local farms and delivering to the dairy.
• Collect milk samples during farm collections and label for lab testing.
• Embrace farm collection and occasional transhipment tasks.
• Ensure deliveries and collections are on time per client requirements.
• Navigate rural routes while driving safely.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team.
• Participate in regular training to stay updated on standards.

Job description

Shift: 5on 3off Nights, 18:15hrs - 04:15hrs

Competitive Pay: Earn £18.61 per hour (£42,454 per annum), based on 10-hour shifts working a 5on 3off rota. Looking to maximise your earnings? Additional shifts are available, with rest day working paid at £211.10 per shift Monday to Friday and £221.10 per shift for working an additional Saturday or Sunday shift.

About the Role

As a Milk Tanker Driver you will:

• Take on the essential role of collecting fresh milk from local farms and delivering it to the dairy, ensuring every delivery is made with care and precision.
• Collect milk samples during farm collections and once back at the depot, ensure all samples are correctly labelled before being dropped off for laboratory testing, in line with quality and food safety requirements.
• Embrace a variety of tasks, including farm collection and occasional transhipment roles, adding excitement to your daily routine.
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time, meeting client requirements and maintaining consistently high standards.
• Enjoy rural driving while navigating beautiful landscapes and countryside routes.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone to ensure vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and any issues encountered.
• Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• A minimum of 6 months' HGV driving experience.
• Experience with milk tankers would be an advantage, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.
