Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Milk Tanker Driver for North Tawton. You will collect milk from local farms, deliver to the dairy, and occasionally handle transhipment tasks. The role includes sampling, labeling, and ensuring timely deliveries with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Shifts are 5on 3off, 06:00–16:00, with overtime paid and enhanced weekend rates. Full training will be provided, and there are development opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 CE Licence required.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Milk tanker experience is an advantage, though full training will be provided.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collect fresh milk from local farms and deliver to the dairy.
• Label milk samples correctly for laboratory testing.
• Occasional transhipment work and farm collections.
• Ensure on-time deliveries and collections to meet client requirements.
• Drive in rural routes while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and liaise with transport team.

Class 1 Ex Farm Milk Tanker Driver

Location: North Tawton

Shift: 5on 3off, Days

Competitive Salary: £16.35 per hour, equating to £37,298 per annum, based on working 10 hours per shift.

About The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Take on the essential role of collecting fresh milk from local farms and delivering it to the dairy, ensuring every delivery is made with care and precision.
• Collect milk samples during farm collections and once back at the depot, ensure all samples are correctly labelled before being dropped off for laboratory testing, in line with quality and food safety requirements.
• Embrace a variety of tasks, including farm collections and occasional transhipment work, adding variety to your daily routine.
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time, meeting client requirements and maintaining consistently high standards.
• Enjoy rural driving while navigating beautiful landscapes and countryside routes.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone to ensure vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and any issues encountered.
• Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience with milk tankers would be an advantage, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.
